Washington Square Park is a 9.75-acre public park in the New York City neighborhood of Greenwich Village, Manhattan. One of the best known of New York City's 1,900 public parks, it is a landmark as well as a meeting place and center for cultural activity.

Mary Jane Watson walked to Washington Square Park to get away from Hydro-Man. However, Hydro-Man followed her there. Hydro-Man then told Mary Jane that he now had the power to give her whatever she wanted. Hydro-Man then demonstrated his powers by making the water in a fountain in Washington Square Park to shoot into the sky. Spider-Man then arrived and rescued Mary Jane.
While Peter Parker was at the Washington Square Arch at Washington Square Park, he ran into Mary Jane Watson. At this time Harry Osborn had gone into a depression after Norman Osborn was believed to have died and Mary Jane asked Peter to check on him.
