The third season of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, titled The Sins of the Fathers, aired on Fox Kids from April 1996 to to November 1996.
Summary[]
This season Spider-Man meets a mysterious woman named Madame Web. Madame Web sends Spider-Man on missions to teach him various lessons as preparation for a big battle.
Later this season, Peter Parker is framed by Kingpin and Richard Fisk for treason. Peter, as Spider-Man, must work with Daredevil to clear his name and bring Richard and Kingpin to justice.
Peter and Mary Jane begin to date.
Spider-Man also meets his greatest enemy, the Green Goblin. When Green Goblin learns that Spider-Man is really Peter Parker, Green Goblin begins to tourment Peter both in and out of costume. This leads to Green Goblin and Spider-Man's final battle. A battle that comes at a great cost to Spider-Man.
