Bruce was a stone gargoyle on top of a building in New York City.

Spider-Man would often go to Bruce and talk to him about his problems. Spider-Man knew that Bruce was only stone and could not talk back. The reason Spider-Man would talk to Bruce was so that he could think out loud.
